A state base for storing, processing and trading imported timber has been established in Northeast China’s Liaoning province recently.
Seven enterprises have begun operations at a furnishing industrial park in Zhuanghe, Dalian. On the northern Yellow Sea, Zhuanghe is one of 10 national bases handling imported timber, one of eight state-level timber inspection. According to Wang Man, deputy chairman of the Chinese Forestry Industry Association, Zhuanghe’s timber sector is enjoying rapid development and shows great promise. “That China’s ban on commercial logging of natural forests brings new opportunities for imported timber.” he said.
Despite of the imported logs and lumbers to China falls off this year, the demand of wood for construction, furniture, wood works and engineering works continues busy while supply of domestic natural resources is severely restricted. That is why more and more new timber centers are going to laugh in China.
