New China’s top ten state wood reserve and processing bases

Recently the construction of China’s top ten state wood reserve and processing bases have initially built. To meet the increasing needs of wood, ten ports will be selected as the base, including Manchuria, Suifenhe, Zhuanghe, Tianjin, Lanshan, Zhangjiagang, Taicang, Zhangzhou, Shenzhen and Ruili.

Nowadays, the annual consumption of wood reached around half a billion cubic meter, with 50% external dependence. It is estimated that China’s wood demand is going to reach 800 million cubic meters and the shortage will reach 500 million cubic meters, with 65% external dependence. To build the wood reserve and processing base is a way to solve the contradictions between supply and demand,
